How To Install Andoird Jelly Bean On Xperia Neo/Neo V


In this article you will see how to install Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 on Xperia Neo/NeoV. Sony has stopped the upgrades of Xperia Neo/Neo V as with many other devices for speculative purposes.
Here they come some programmers manufacturers like xda-developers to show to manufacturing companies that these devices are not for withdrawal but have more features than those we already know.
Xperia Neo/Neo V has the ability to set the cpu over 1Ghz and many more who with the purchase does not support.

You want to buy a device with the new version of Android? Follow the steps below carefully and you will keep your old phone upgraded.

Before you start inform you that we are not responsible for possible damage to your phone. The following instructions are been implemented by us without any problem. If any problem occur in the path of this tottorial, you can reset your phone by following the instructions HERE.



1. First, make sure if your device is upgraded or if you have already installed some rom you must reinstall the default version. To do this follow the below article.

2. When you complete with above step, now you need to download some files you will need for the next steps. Download the following files:

Fastboot or Unlock Xperia Bootloader.zip
Android SDK
Latest FlashTool version
Google Apps
Custom Rom for Neo (MT15i Hallon) / Custom Rom for Neo V (MT11i Haida)


3. Now you need to unlock the bootloader, go here unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com and follow the steps that are written to this page or follow my own steps.

a. Download the Unlock Xperia Bootloader.zip and unzip it where you want
b. Now open unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com page
c. At the bottom of page press Start unlocking the bootloader
d. Read the Instructions very carefully, you need open the dialler to your device and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu. In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes.
e. Press Yes I'm sure







f. Accept the terms












g. At the 'Name' field put your name, at the 'IMEI' field put your IMEI (open the dialler to your device and enter *#06# put only the first 14 numbers), at the 'E-mail' field put your email and press 'Submit'.











h. Remember the number that was created for the next steps. But also you will receive an email with this number.










i. Now Turn off your device power, and hold the Fastboot button at the same time as you connect the phone to the computer with the USB-cable. Press several times until notification Led will light blue.









j. Now unzip Fastboot folder and inside them press Shift button with Right click, now press 'Open command window here'.
k. Copy/paste this 'fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version' and press enter in command window










l. Now copy/paste this 'fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0x' and after this put the number you get from step 'h', for example if your number is 215D6587R4511S5A then you need to put all this like 'fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0x215D6587R4511S5A' in your command window.











4. Now you need to install the Kernel, first isntall the FlashTool.exe

a. Open (not extract) the zipped Custom Rom
b. Copy boot.img from it and paste it wherever you want
c. Shut down your device again
d. Plug the usb while pressing the Menu button on your device (like step '3,i') until notification Led will light blue.
e. Start FlashTool.exe (or FlashTool64.exe, depends on your installed OS)
f. Click on the button with the thunder
g. Select 'fastboot mode'
h. Select 'Select kernel to Flash' (2nd button on 3rd column) it will open a folder window
i. Find the kernel boot.img
j. Once main FlashTool says it's done, it means "we're done with kernel flashing!" (you can unplug your device).


5. Now you need to flash the Custom Rom, copy/paste in your sd card the Custom Rom and the Goole Apps files.

a. Boot your device and wait for the notification Led to turn pink and press several times volume down or Menu button
b. Once in CWM (Recovery mod) click on 'wipe data/factory reset' and confirm it
c. Click on 'wipe cache partition' and confirm it
d. Go in 'mounts and storage' and click on 'format /system' and confirm it
e. Go in 'advanced' and click on 'wipe dalvik cache' and confirm it
f. Go in 'install zip from sdcard' then 'choose zip from sdcard' and select the downloaded Custom Rom and wait the install to finish (can make 5 minutes)
g. Go in 'install zip from sdcard' then 'choose zip from sdcard' and select Google Apps 'gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip' and wait the install to finish
h. Click on 'reboot system now'

That's it, if all have done well your phone will be upgraded to Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2.
